Geology
United States Geological Survey (USGS) Earthquake Site--view and retrieve data related to earthquakes. This site contains live data. You can register for tweets or text messaging related to earthquakes in your area.
Calculate Distances--use this site to enter a latitude and longitude of two points and calculate their distance in kilometers. Using 1 degree =111.19 km, you can calculate the location of the shadow zone. Alternate sites that can also do this include: site two or site three (can enter cities).
Earthquakes Last 7 Days--click here, then select M1+ Real Time Earthquakes, Past Seven Days to view earthquakes in the last 7 days in Google Earth.

After you watch the video, schedule a time to meet with your teacher and summarize the major points of the video. Keep in mind, this may help you choose a topic for your Health, Wellness, Going Green Project. All meetings with the teacher must be done by December 20th at 2:45 pm. Plan on 10 minutes to meet with your teacher. You may bring notes. If you do not show up to your appointment, it may be rescheduled prior to Dec. 20th, but will be at 7am or 7:15 am for the rescheduled time.
